Ten days is the right amount of time to move between two countries that operate at very different registers — Italy at full urban pace, Switzerland at something closer to the speed of a cogwheel train. This itinerary covers both without shortchanging either: two nights in Milan for the city and the shopping, then a week through the Swiss Alps from Zermatt to Grindelwald, Interlaken, Lucerne and Zurich. You arrive in Milan and the first afternoon takes you to Lake Como — the lake at the base of the Alps that the city has always escaped to, ringed by 19th-century villas and a promenade that works at a genuinely slower pace. Day three is Milan proper: the Duomo, La Scala, Castello Sforzesco and Serravalle Designer Outlet, one of the largest outlet complexes in northern Italy with over 120 fashion and designer brands. Day four crosses into Switzerland and heads to Zermatt — a car-free mountain town built around the Matterhorn, one of the most recognisable peaks in the Alps. Days five and six move east through Montreux and the Château de Chillon, the Korean drama filming location at Lake Blausee, the Staubach Waterfall in Lauterbrunnen valley, and Jungfraujoch — the highest railway station in Europe at 3,454 metres above sea level. Days seven through nine complete the Swiss arc: Bern's medieval old town, Rhine Falls (the most powerful waterfall in Europe), Mount Titlis at 3,020 metres, Lucerne's Chapel Bridge, and Zurich's Bahnhofstrasse. Qatar Airways return flights from Kuala Lumpur via Doha are included, with 25kg checked baggage. Halal meals are provided throughout. Day-by-Day
Assemble at KLIA 3–4 hours before the Qatar Airways departure. The flight routes through Doha International Airport before continuing to Milan Malpensa. The transit in Doha is a connecting stop — no sightseeing — so rest on board where you can. The itinerary proper begins on arrival in Milan tomorrow morning.
